WiseHaven children's privacy notice
Last updated 2026-09-22. This notice is for the guardian who sets up a child profile. The full privacy policy covers everyone.
The short version
A child profile holds a name you choose and, if you enter one, a date of birth. That is all we hold about the child themselves. The child has no login and no account. The filtering work happens on the child's own device, so the pictures and pages on that device stay on it. You set the policy, you see the events, and you can delete the profile at any time, which deletes what belongs to it.
Who gives consent
You do. A child profile exists because a guardian made it on their own account, and the guardian holds the plan, sets the policy, and is the person we deal with.
What we collect about a child
- A display name. Whatever you type. It does not have to be their real name.
- A date of birth, if you enter one. It is optional. We use it for one thing: to know when the profile reaches 18, because at 18 the young person takes over their own settings.
- Their devices. A name for each device, its model, whether protection is on, when it was last heard from, and the app version.
- The policy you set for that profile, and its history.
- Events. Protection switched off, a tamper attempt, a bypass attempt, a restricted install, a device offline too long. Each one records the kind of event, the time, the device, how long it lasted, and the outcome.
- Requests, when the child asks for a site or an app to be allowed.
What we never collect from a child's device
- The pages they open, the searches they run, or the titles of anything.
- The pictures on those pages. Images are scored on the device and the picture stays there.
- Messages, photo libraries, contacts, calls, or location.
- A list of the apps on the phone. The app reads that list on the device to show you which apps are there, and it never leaves the phone.
- Screenshots.
An event sent to us is refused by the server if it carries a web address, a page title, an image, or page content. That is enforced in code.
Why we collect what we do
Every item above exists so the product can do the one job you set it: keep the policy on the device current, tell you when protection stops, and let you answer a request. We do not collect anything to advertise, to profile, or to sell. We do not sell or share a child's information with anyone, and we never use anything from a device to train or test our models.
What the child sees
The child is told what the product does on their device. Protection is not hidden from them, and the app does not pretend to be something else.
How long we keep it
Events are deleted 90 days after they happen. Everything else belonging to the profile is kept until you delete it or delete the account.
Your control
At any time you can:
- change the policy,
- see the events and the requests,
- remove a device,
- delete the child profile, which deletes the devices, policy history, events, and requests that belong to it,
- delete the whole account.
Write to privacy@wisehaven.co if you would rather we did it for you, or if you want a copy of what we hold.
When the child turns 18
If you entered a date of birth, the profile converts at 18. The young person takes over their own settings and chooses their own Keeper, or none. A guardian does not keep a view of an adult's profile.
